Molding: Using hot pressing or extrusion molding technology. Under a certain temperature (150-200 ℃) and pressure (5-10MPa), the material is fused and bonded to form a predetermined shape of thatch slab; Extrusion molding is through the screw extruder continuous extrusion molding, after cooling shape to obtain long strips of thatch board, and then cut to the required size.
Post-treatment: The surface of the moulded thatch board is polished, and the secondary waterproof treatment is carried out to improve the surface smoothness and waterproof durability, and finally the product is packaged.

Test method

Vertical combustion test method (UL 94) and Limiting oxygen index test method (LOI) were used. In the vertical combustion test, the standard size thatch board sample was fixed vertically, and the fire source was removed after burning the bottom of the Bunsen burner for 10 seconds, and the flame spreading time, self-extinguishing time and combustion dripping were observed. Limiting oxygen index test In the nitrogen and oxygen mixed air environment, gradually adjust the oxygen content until the sample can just maintain combustion, then the oxygen content is the LOI value.
Test result
The vertical combustion test shows that the flame spreading height of the high-quality flame retardant synthetic thatch board does not exceed 50mm, the self-extinguishing time is within 10 seconds, and no combustion droplet ignites the filter paper below, meeting the UL 94 V-0 standard.
The limiting oxygen index test shows that its LOI value is generally between 30%-35%, much higher than that of common flammable materials (LOI < 21%), indicating that a higher oxygen content is required in the air to maintain combustion and has good flame retardancy.

Fourth, waterproof performance test and analysis

Test method

Static water contact Angle test: Using a contact Angle measuring instrument, water droplets are placed on the surface of the thatch board to measure the tangent Angle between water droplets and the surface of the material. The larger the Angle, the stronger the hydrophobicity.
Water permeability test: According to standard ASTM E96, the sample is fixed on the water permeability test device, one side contacts simulated rain, the other side collects permeable water, and the water permeability is calculated by measuring the unit time permeable water.

Test result

Static water contact Angle up to 130° -150 °, water droplets on the surface is approximately spherical, roll quickly, showing excellent lotus effect, waterproof initial effect is significant.
The water permeability test results show that in the continuous 24-hour simulated rainstorm sprinkling (rainfall intensity 200mm/h), the water permeability is lower than 0.05%, effectively blocking the infiltration of rain and ensuring that the space under the roof is dry.
